DATA as a Second Language

The business world is in the midst of a data revolution. As the variety, volume, and velocity of data has increased, the ability to interact with data and communicate data insights effectively is an essential skill for everyone in the business. This seminar is intended to provide a solid foundation of data and analytics concepts to make non-technical business professionals more proficient in understanding and communicating analytics concepts within their organization.

This is not a technical seminar and is appropriate for all business professionals.

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn to speak data by building fluency with common statistics and analytical definitions as well as a high level understanding of data formats..
  • Learn to detect bias and question data sources with the outcome of improving the quality of analytics and reducing the risk of misinterpreting data.
  • Describe the why and how of monetizing information both internally and externally with partners and customers.
  • Understand the ethical and regulatory concerns that come with collecting, storing, and using data.
